Welcome
Hello! I’m Swati — reader, mom, and the person behind Pondering Over Pages. Grab a cup of tea, get cozy, and stay a while. If you’ve ever found yourself sneaking in “just one more chapter” instead of scrolling one more feed, you’re exactly who this blog is for.
About Me
I’m an avid reader, and — to my absolute delight — so are my two kids, ages 8 and 10. Books have always been the quiet constant in our house: piled on nightstands, tucked into school bags, argued over at bedtime (“just five more pages, please”). Pondering Over Pages grew out of that everyday love of reading, and a simple belief that a good book can hold its own even in a world built for binge-watching.
This isn’t a blog about reading perfectly or productively. It’s about reading joyfully — whether that’s a thriller devoured in a weekend, a self-help book that quietly shifts your perspective, a picture book read for the hundredth time, or a classic you finally got around to.
How the Blog Started
Pondering Over Pages started out of passion, plain and simple. In an age where screens compete for every spare minute — ours and our kids’ — I wanted a small corner of the internet dedicated to encouraging and promoting reading, one honest reflection and recommendation at a time.
It began as a way to talk about the books our family was reading and loving, and slowly turned into something bigger: a space to celebrate reading as a joyful, everyday habit — not a chore, not a nostalgia trip, but something worth choosing again and again, at any age.
What You’ll Find Here
Book reviews across fiction and self-help — honest takes on what worked, what didn’t, and what stayed with me long after the last page
Curated list selections — think “books to read if…”, genre round-ups, and themed recommendations to help you pick your next read faster
Support for teaching reading to young children — practical tips, favorite read-aloud strategies, and what’s actually worked (and not worked) in our house
Children’s book reviews, told through my kids’ eyes — my 8-year-old and 10-year-old share their real, unfiltered takes on the books they’re reading, so you get a young reader’s honest opinion, not just a parent’s guess
Basically: if it’s a good book — for you or your kids — there’s a good chance it’ll show up here.
